If a lateral exists,
I agree to contact the Public Services Department at (619) 670-2241 and obtain a
sewer connection permit.
I agree to contact the Inspection Division at (619) 670-2244, BEFORE I have
completed the connection of the project address’ sewer plumbing to the District’s
existing sewer gravity main.
If a lateral does not exist,
I agree to contact the Public Services Department at (619) 670-2241 and obtain a
sewer connection permit.
I agree to contact the Inspection Division at (619) 670-2244, to schedule a Pre-
Construction Meeting prior to any work being done at the project address.
I agree that the District will provide a sewer wet tap (cut in wye) connection to the
sewer gravity main and my contractor shall provide all materials and install the
remainder of the lateral in compliance with the Water Agencies’ Standards (WAS).
Prior to backfilling the sewer connection, I must allow the District to inspect and
approve the connection. I also understand that the connection must be made in
compliance with the;

Every wastewater discharge permit shall expire by limitations and shall become null and void if
the construction or work authorized by such permit is not commenced within one hundred and
twenty (120) days from date of issuance of such wastewater discharge permit or if the construction
or work authorized by such wastewater discharge permit is suspended or abandoned for a period
of one hundred and twenty (120) days at any time after the work is commenced. Before such
work can be recommenced, a new wastewater discharge permit application must be filed with the

Monthly sewer service, Code of Ordinance Section 53.10; www.otaywater.gov.
Monthly charges shall commence upon one of the following:
Installation of the water meter to serve the premises receiving the sewer service
Connection to the District sewer system
Start of occupancy of the premises to be served, or one year after the date the application
for sewer was filed, whichever is earlier
